Terms of Use
FlyScout shows public flight data to people who love aviation. Enjoy it, and use it with care. Effective 14 October 2026.
Where the data comes from
Aircraft positions come from receiver networks run largely by volunteers, and from commercial services; each flight credits its source. The data can be incomplete, delayed or wrong, and an aircraft that does not transmit is not there.
What "unusual" means
Unusual flights are found automatically by fixed rules that measure a track. They say what the track shows, a hold, a go-around, an emergency code, never why. Happening now shows flights before any rule has measured them, and they may turn out to be ordinary flying.
Not for operational use
FlyScout is not an official record and not a navigation or safety service. Do not rely on it for decisions about any flight.
FlyScout Pro
FlyScout Pro is an auto-renewing subscription, monthly or yearly, at the price shown before you buy it. Payment is charged to your App Store or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, and the renewal is charged within the 24 hours before that period ends. Where a free trial is offered, it becomes a paid subscription when it ends unless it is cancelled at least 24 hours before; any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription. Manage or cancel it in your App Store or Google Play account settings (in the app: Settings, then FlyScout Pro, then Manage subscription). Deleting the app does not cancel it. Refunds are decided by Apple or Google under their own rules. What Pro includes is listed where it is offered and may grow or change as FlyScout does.
Respect
Behind every flight there are crews and passengers. Do not use FlyScout to harass anyone, and respect the photographers whose aircraft photos appear in the app.
The licence
If you got FlyScout from the App Store, Apple's standard licence agreement for apps also applies. FlyScout is provided as it is, without any promise that it will always be available or correct, to the extent the law allows.
